Enjoying a party is a part of the Waasland mentality. But the festivals here are quite extraordinary. Some are big and full of balloons; others are small and not for everyone. We challenge you to discover the Waasland in a new way this summer. Go wild at a dance festival and celebrate life in Lokeren and Sint-Niklaas. Our favourite events and festivals deserve a spot on your calendar.
Lokerse feesten
5 to 14 August in Lokeren
From August 5 to 14, 2022, the party in Lokeren will erupt. For ten sultry summer nights you can dance in the centre of this Waasland city to the tunes of Belgian and international artists. One big stage, insane sound and thousands of festival-goers moving with you. This year, sing along to Lionel Richie's "All Night Long" and let loose at the 3D Techno show by German band Kraftwerk. The full line-up will be announced in the coming months.

The Qontinent
2 to 14 August in Wachtebeke
Do you most enjoy music where the bass pounds throughout your body? Then put the Qontinent on your festival list for 2022. From 12 to 14 August the best hard-style and hardcore DJs will be running Domein Puyenbroek in Wachtbeke. Three days of full throttle partying with your friends. Think huge fire-breathing stages and a spectacle of light and sound. Relax in your own festival tepee at the Ravers Resort. Better pack your blow-up crocodile!

3 to 5 September in Sint-Niklaas
Above you, dozens of hot air balloons will be floating in the air. You will taste new cultures, sing along at full volume to all the bands and dance the night away under the lights. There is no better place to celebrate peace than in Sint-Niklaas. During the 2022 edition, the city's liberation will be commemorated from 3 to 5 September during the festival. Sint-Niklaas will then turn into one big festival area, which connects people through music, good food and fun. From live concerts at the Villa Pace and
BOOM fest in the park, to spectacular views at the (air) Balloon Festival and a tasty trip around the world market.
Prefer not to drive home? In and around Sint-Niklaas, you'll find plenty of B&Bs and hotels where you can get a good night's sleep.
Crammerock
2 to 3 September in Stekene
For many rebels from the region, Crammerock is the highlight of their festival summer. From afar, you can already see the two huge tents looming. This is where the festival will take place on 2 and 3 September 2022. At Crammerock, the beers will flow copiously, and artists like The Kooks and Balthazar will enjoy diving into the crowd. Imagine a weekend full of top acts, non-stop music and tens of thousands of people like you. The atmosphere at Crammerock is priceless.
